Clearkeep privacy policy

Effective

This is the privacy policy for Clearkeep, the iPhone app made by Plainkeel, an independent studio operated by Adam Grimard. The current version is always at plainkeel.com/clearkeep/privacy.

In short

Photos

Clearkeep needs access to your Photos library. It uses that access to find duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, blurry shots, and large videos, and to delete items from the library.

Finding and reviewing those items happens on your iPhone. Your photos and videos are not uploaded to Plainkeel. Plainkeel does not receive copies of them.

When you delete an item in Clearkeep, iOS moves it to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app. It is not erased right away. You can recover it from Recently Deleted. iOS currently keeps items in that album for 30 days, then removes them permanently. Deleting from the Photos app uses the same album. Recovery steps are on the support page.

Photo library access is not used for advertising, analytics, or an account.

Purchases

Clearkeep has a free tier. You can use it without an account and without paying. Clearkeep Pro is optional. It is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.

In-app purchases are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, a subscription management service. Apple processes the payment. Plainkeel does not receive your payment card number or your Apple ID password.

RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase or receipt information to validate subscriptions. That ID is not your name, your email address, or your Apple ID. A lifetime purchase is also completed through Apple, using a receipt of the same kind.

Clearkeep contacts Apple and RevenueCat in order to validate a purchase. Your photos and videos are not part of that.

Ads, analytics, and tracking

Clearkeep does not show ads. It does not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. RevenueCat is used only to validate purchases, as described above. It is not used for advertising or analytics.

Crash data

If you have opted in to share crash data with app developers, Apple may share anonymized crash data with Plainkeel. If you have not opted in, Apple does not share that crash data with Plainkeel. Plainkeel uses crash data it receives to diagnose crashes.

Selling data

Plainkeel does not sell your data.

Children

Clearkeep is not directed at children under 13. Plainkeel does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has emailed personal information to Plainkeel, write to [email protected] and ask for that email to be deleted.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page will change with it.
